The civil division of the Magistrate Court focuses on resolving private disputes between individuals or businesses, typically involving Small Debt recovery. A significant portion of this caseload involves Rental Arrears and Eviction proceedings. In these cases, the court reviews evidence from landlords regarding unpaid rent and, if necessary, issues an “Eviction Order” to legally remove a tenant or a ” Judgment Order” to enforce the repayment of the debt.
