The Family Court is a Magistrate Court established under the Family Court Act, Chapter 93 andhas jurisdiction to hear matters affecting children and families arising under the following laws:

RULES made by the Chief Justice, with the concurrence of the other judges, in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by sections 95 and 108 of the Supreme Court of Judicature Act, Chapter 91 of the Substantive Laws of Belize, Revised Edition 2011, and all other powers thereunto her enabling.
